After donating to girls of Gorog JHS with money received as part of the women in media awards, Dreamz Fm’s Sarah Teni Babohima on Friday, June 9, 2023, donated pads to girls of two schools in the Bolgatanga Municipality and Bongo District.
The two schools are Yorogo Junior High School, in Bolgatanga and Sikabisi Junior High School in Namoo in the Bongo District of the Upper East Region. In all, 170 girls from the two schools benefited from the Women in Media award winner and icon in Northern Ghana.
Yorogo Junior High School had 130 girls who received two packs of sanitary pads while 40 girls of the Sikabisi Junior High School received two packs of pads, two exercise books, and a pen each.
The donation saw her exhaust the prize money for the award which is 4000 as she desires to donate to some more schools in the region.
Addressing the students, Ms. Teni, says the donation is in fulfillment of her long-held desire to give back to society, especially the girlchild.
She is looking forward to donating to three more schools in other parts of the region as she appeals to benevolent persons or organizations to support her by donating sanitary pads, books, or cash to help her reach out to more schools.

“The team was out after our first donation to Gorog Jhs last week. God has been good; it is just by the special grace of God that this project is taking shape quickly and we are grateful to Him. Today we donated to two schools, Sikabisi Junior High School in the Bongo district and Yorogo Junior High School in the Bolgatanga municipality.
Both schools had 40 and 130 girls respectively. In all, we donated to (170) girls even though a few were absent.
At Sikabisi, the girls took home each, two packs of sanitary pads, two exercise books, and a pen while all 130 girls at Yorogo Jhs took two packs of sanitary pads each. We are grateful to our all who supported us especially two giant business people in the region who want to remain anonymous, God bless you so much.” She stated.
She continued, adding “On this note my prize money is finished but I will still continue with this project, please help me put a smile on the faces of these young girls by donating a pack of pads or more to us. Three schools have been done with, a lot more to go.” Ms. Teni stated.
Authorities and pupils of the two schools expressed gratitude for the gesture.
