The Vice President and Investment Director at Cardinal Namdini SD Gold, a large-scale mining firm in the Talensi District of the Upper East Region, Vincent Xiao Suun, says the company’s primary ambition is to generate wealth for local communities and the country as a whole.

Mr. Sun made the remarks while speaking to the media after a visit by the Minister for Lands and Natural Resources, Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah, who toured the company’s operations to assess its compliance with mining regulations.

He disclosed that the company has already invested about $100 million into the Ghanaian economy and currently employs approximately 2,000 people.

According to him, these investments reflect the company’s commitment to wealth creation and local development.

“We want to enrich local people. We want to enrich the country. We want to create enduring value for all of our stakeholders,” he said.

Mr. Sun added that more investments and opportunities should be expected as the company expands its operations.

He described the engagement with the minister and his delegation as productive and insightful.

“We had a good engagement with the minister and the high-powered delegation. That shows the importance of this project. He also gave us more responsibilities,” he said.

Mr. Sun explained that part of the responsibilities outlined by the minister includes investing in the development of local talent by training community members into skilled professionals.

“We are still a young project. We will be operating here for another 19 or 20 years, so we believe the local community will grow with us, gain more training and education, and become very important parts of our project,” he added
