Ghanaian artiste and entrepreneur Bill Gucci says his brand is expanding beyond the Upper East Region, citing growing demand for performances, rising streaming numbers and increasing earnings.
Speaking on Dreamz FM’s “Breakfast Today” with James Nana Tsiquaye, the musician, born Yitah Wilbur Wejah, said he has built a strong fan base both locally and nationally, with successful shows in multiple regions.
“We sold out shows in places like Damongo and Sandema,” he said. “Put me anywhere in Ghana, I have the confidence that I can deliver.”
Gucci said his performance fees have grown significantly, noting he has moved from performing for free early in his career to charging as much as $5,000 for shows outside his home region.
“It’s expensive to have us,” he said, attributing the cost to logistics, branding and a full production team that includes videographers and bloggers.
The artiste also pointed to digital streaming as a key revenue source, saying he recorded some of the highest numbers in his region in 2025. He added that he generated about 80,000 Ghana cedis from a self-organized event last year.
Gucci described himself as part of a “new school” of artistes driving innovation in the region, while acknowledging earlier generations.
“At my level and with my group, I don’t see anyone matching our energy,” he said.
He cited collaborations with artistes such as Kweku DMC and growing interest from musicians in other regions as evidence of his reach.
Despite his confidence, Gucci declined to rank himself above others, instead emphasizing continued growth and expansion of his brand beyond regional boundaries.
