Communications Officer for the Bolgatanga Central Constituency Job Aboyom says several development projects promised by Member of Parliament Isaac Adongo during his recent five-day constituency tour are already being implemented.
Speaking on Dreamz FM’s Breakfast News program with host James Nana Tsiquaye, Aboyom said one of the urgent requests made by residents of Yikene for the dredging of a community dam has been completed.
According to him, the MP fulfilled his pledge within days after the tour.
“I went there yesterday and the dam has been successfully completed,” Aboyom said. “The people are very excited because the dam is important for farming, livestock and construction activities.”
He said the project would officially be handed over to the community in the coming days.
Aboyom also addressed concerns regarding the ongoing construction of a senior high school project at Sherigu. He said contractors remain on site and work is progressing steadily, although he had not personally visited the site recently.
The communications officer outlined several infrastructure and social intervention projects undertaken across the constituency, particularly in the health sector.
According to him, more than seven health facilities, including maternity blocks and CHPS compounds, have either been completed or are under construction in communities such as Bongo, Sawaba, Tanzui-Worbisi, Kalbeo, Yorogo-Kobore and Tindonsobligo.
He said a maternity block at Anateem has already been commissioned and is operational.
Aboyom further stated that the MP had facilitated the establishment of an additional senior high school in the constituency, increasing the number of second-cycle institutions in Bolgatanga Central.
He added that the constituency office had also prioritized education support, including payment of school fees for more than 500 students and scholarships for others pursuing various programs.
On employment, Aboyom said the MP had helped secure jobs for 235 constituents under the government’s economic initiatives.
He also disclosed that 105 boreholes and 51 grinding mills had been provided across communities in the constituency as part of social intervention programs.
Responding to concerns about delayed political promises, Aboyom maintained that Adongo fulfills commitments made to residents.
“The MP is not the type that comes to promise and put dust in your eyes,” he said. “He is someone that delivers.”
He added that the constituency office continues to prioritize roads, healthcare, education and job creation as part of efforts to improve living conditions in Bolgatanga Central.
