The National Oversight Committee on Secondary Education Reforms has commenced a one-week monitoring exercise in the Upper East Region.
The team, led by Dr. John Liga Alhassan from GES Headquarters and comprising representatives from the Ministry of Education, National Teaching Council (NTC), NaCCA and T-TEL, held an inception meeting with Regional Management and the Regional Monitoring Team at the Regional Education Office on Monday, May 11, 2026.
The exercise seeks to assess the implementation of the Secondary Education Reforms in selected Senior High Schools/Senior High Technical Schools across the region. Key areas of focus include School Improvement Plans (SIPs), Value Learning Communities (VLCs), Tablet Distribution, Guidance and Counselling activities, and Student Transcript Portals.
As part of the exercise, the Committee will visit eleven (11) SHS/SHTS in the region to interact with school authorities and monitor progress made in the implementation of the reforms.
