The District Chief Executive (DCE) for the Kassena Nankana West District in the Upper East Region, Stephen Aeke Akurugo, has disclosed that the government has prioritized the Agenda 111 project in the district for completion.

According to the DCE, the project, which is currently 70% complete, is among 35 hospitals selected for completion under the first phase of the Agenda 111 health facilities initiative.

It is anticipated that, once completed, the facility will boost healthcare delivery in the border district.

Mr. Akurugo made the disclosure on Tuesday during the Kassena Nankana West District Assembly’s First Ordinary Meeting of the Assembly.

The meeting was held in fulfilment of Section 28(1) and (2)(a) of the Local Governance Act, 2016 (Act 936).

Delivering his sessional address, the DCE reiterated that the Agenda 111 facility is among the 35 projects earmarked by the government for completion.

” The Agenda 111 hospital project in the Kassena-Nankana West District, which is currently about 70% complete, is among the 35 hospitals to be prioritised for completion during the first phase, as declared by His Excellency President John Dramani Mahama. Once completed, the hospital will strengthen health care delivery in the district.” He disclosed.
