Beyond its financial performance, Maltaaba Community Bank PLC demonstrated a strong commitment to community development in 2025, supporting schools, farmers, health institutions and local organisations across the Bongo District.
Board Chairman Anthony Mba Ndor highlighted these contributions at the bank’s 13th Annual General Meeting in the Bongo District of the Upper East Region, underscoring the bank’s belief in being a partner in the development of its catchment communities.
The bank came to the aid of Anafobiisi Atinganim Day Care and Primary School after a storm destroyed the school’s roof, providing 14 pockets of high-quality roofing sheets for repairs.
Teachers of the Ghana National Association of Teachers in the Northern Zone of the district received support for their local conference at Namoo, while Farmers Day celebrations in Bongo District were backed with a deep freezer for the awards ceremony.
The bank also supported a Ghana Education Service training programme for newly recruited staff in Bongo and helped the Bongo District Library register more young readers. In the health sector, the bank contributed to covering the cost of education on preterm baby and maternal care at a local hospital.
“With the guidance of God and your unflinching support and loyal patronage, Maltaaba is going far with you,” Mr Ndor told the gathering.
Looking ahead, the Chairman expressed optimism about the bank’s expansion prospects, noting that the developing nature of the catchment area presents strong opportunities for growth, particularly as declining interest rates make credit increasingly accessible to farmers, market women and small businesses.
He called on the youth especially to invest in ventures that contribute to local economic production, saying the bank stands ready to support them.
