AMBULANCE BOUGHT BY ADONGO FOR BOLGATANGA CENTRAL

The Member of Parliament for the Bolgatanga Central Constituency, Isaac Adongo, has officially handed over an ambulance he procured for the constituency to the Bolgatanga Municipal Health Directorate.

Mr. Adongo explained that the ambulance is expected to assist in the evacuation of emergency cases and the transportation of patients referred to other healthcare facilities.

The MP noted that the procurement of the ambulance was informed by observations of challenges in managing emergency cases and referrals to other facilities.

This, he said, influenced his decision to intervene and procure the ambulance specifically to serve the constituency.

According to the lawmaker, the ambulance was purchased with his personal funds and not with publicly sourced funds.

“When people struggle to get an ambulance, they reach out to me. Recently,we had one of our boys from Yorogo who needed to be transported to a bigger facility and it was a struggle. I decided to use personal funds to buy the ambulance for the municipal health directorate. So, this is Adongo saying thank you to my people.” He said

Receiving the keys on behalf of the directorate, Simon Effah Adjei, Acting Municipal Director of the Ghana Health Service for the Bolgatanga Municipality and Senior Disease Control Officer, expressed gratitude to the MP for the intervention.

He added that the ambulance would help improve healthcare delivery in the municipality.

“On behalf of the directorate, we want to thank the MP. In fact, this ambulance has come as timely as it will help to improve referrals. One of the challenges we face in the region is maternal deaths and directly linked to that is delayed in referrals.” He added
