Beyond music production and the organization of stage performances for artists in Ghana and Burkina Faso, Kacstone Records, a Paga-based music label, is leaving an indelible mark on the development of the Kassena-Nankana West District in the Upper East Region.
The record label’s latest initiative, aimed at contributing to the development of the district and the Upper East Region, is the construction of a volleyball court for Paga Senior High School.
The school lacks major infrastructural facilities and, in the area of sports, apart from a bare ground designated as the school park, it had no decent sports infrastructure.
The story of the school has since changed with the commissioning of a newly constructed volleyball court.
To commission the volleyball court, Kacstone Records organized volleyball and athletics competitions involving 10 senior high schools and some basic schools over the weekend.
Speaking on behalf of the Chief Executive Officer of Kackstone Records, Wenawome Aborah, Raymond Addah explained that the project forms part of the record label’s corporate social responsibility.
“This project forms part of our Corporate Social Responsibility commitment to supporting communities and contributing to the development of young people. We chose Paga SHS because we recognize the challenges confronting the school, particularly its infrastructure deficits since its establishment in 20210, which have contributed to low enrolment and are further compounded by its status as a day school.” He said
He noted that sports infrastructure remains essential to the growth of schools and the nurturing of young talents.
“At Kacstone Record’s, we strongly believe that sports play a vital role in the holistic development of students. Sports promote discipline, teamwork, leadership, physical fitness, and academic excellence. We are therefore confident that this volleyball court will serve as a platform for nurturing talents and inspiring students to reach their full potential.”
Apart from the commissioning of the volleyball court, the school also received a brand-new table tennis table with accessories, a volleyball net, discus equipment for both male and female athletes, shot puts, soft balls, javelins for both male and female athletes, and a high jump set.

The District Director of Education, Mary Magdalene Wompakea, commended Kacstone Records for its commitment to the development of the district through various interventions, including support for education.
“Kacstone Records has once again demonstrated business success and community development can go hand in hand. By investing in sports infrastructure, you’re building an arena for discipline, team work, resilience and excellence. You’re again giving our children a place to grow beyond the classroom walls.” She stated

At the end of the games, Notre Dame Minor Seminary won the inaugural volleyball competition for the boys category whilst St. John’s Integrated Senior High School won the girls category.
