SIMON AKIBANGE AWORIGO, NDC PC NAVRONGO CENTRAL CONSTITUENCY

Parliamentary Candidate of the National Democratic Congress, NDC in the Navrongo Central Constituency, Simon Aworigo, has served notice to the governing New Patriotic Party, NPP in the constituency and the Upper East Region to forget about laying their hands on the seat anytime soon.

Mr. Aworigo believes the NDC is poised to retain the Navrongo seat despite the internal changes adding all his contenders in the primaries have indicated their willingness to help him retain the seat for the party.

Apart from retaining the seat, he is optimistic that the party will be in a position to increase the votes the party had in 2020.

He is of the strong conviction that the seat is gone for good and out of reach for the NPP.

Mr. Aworigo, polled 475 votes to beat his closest contender in the four four-man, Navrongo NDC Primaries by 28 votes. Samson Tangombu Chirigia, the incumbent MP obtained 447 votes, thereby, failing to secure the majority of votes that could possibly help send him back to parliament.

The others, Pius Ayemva Avio obtained 135 votes whiles Jacob Paarechuga Anankware, managed 88 votes.

Speaking Monday on the State of Our Nation, Mr. Aworigo says the NDC in Navrongo is poised to retain the seat.

“It is about the people and I am ready for the work. It is about a fight for development and I see myself as the best person to lead in that fight and the seat will be retained by the NDC. So, I can assure you that by the grace of God, we will retain the seat and we will increase the votes that we had the last time.  So, I will tell the NPP that they should forget Navrongo Central for now.

He continued stating, “They know it. They themselves, they know it that Navrongo seat is gone for good.” H emphasized
