Aspiring parliamentary candidate of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) for Talensi Constituency, Robert Alibo Ayinaba is confident of winning the seat for the party if he is elected parliamentary candidate.
Mr. Alibo said he has contributed immensely to the development of the area and possesses the right qualities that will attract the needed votes for the party to win the seat if he is given the nod.
He noted that the NPP requires a credible and competent candidate who appeals to electorates from both sides of the political divide in order to snatch the seat from the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC).
These attributes, he posited, are found him. He is, thus, urging delegates in the upcoming parliamentary primary in the constituency to put the interest of the party first by electing him as its candidate.
“We will need more than NPP supporters alone in this constituency to deliver the seat and that’s why you need to put your last penny on Alibo. This is because Alibo has that skill and trick to bring in more people for our party to deliver the seat this time and I know even NDC members will be happy that I am the MP for this constituency”.
He continued, “Because I respect the Talensi people and I will work with everybody not on the basis of where you come from, who you’re, the political divide, development is based on need and based on needs, we will work together to uplift the Talensi District”.
He made this appeal after he successfully filed his nomination at the party’s office in Tongo on Saturday, July 29, 2023 to contest for the slot.
Robert Alibo Ayinenaba is making his 3rd attempt for the NPP’s Talensi parliamentary ticket after failing on 2 different occasions.
He, however, disputes that he lost in any of those elections.
According to him, the will of the people did not prevail. He, therefore, wants party’s leadership to ensure free, fair and transparent processes this around.
“I want to cry out. I hope God will hear this that they should allow the people’s will to prevail this time”.
