The Chief Executive Officer of BC BENCYN Group, Benjamin Anyanah has decried how the seeming lack of honesty by some employees is leading to the collapse of many Ghanaian businesses.

He believes that the biggest challenge for many business executives in the country is getting employees who are dedicated to their duty and will discharge same creditably.

Attitudes exhibited by some employees which he deems as acts leading to the collapse of many enterprises include stealing and breaking the terms of the contract amongst others.

Speaking Tuesday on the State of Our Nation, he noted that some employees fail to give adequate notice when quitting a job for the appropriate replacements but rather quit with immediate effect without being concerned about how that could immediately negatively impact the business operations.

“You have the right to resign but if you want to resign, you are supposed to give sometime frame so that we can somebody to replace you then you go. In the same way, if I decide that I don’t need your services, I have to give a leave for 2 months, while you are away for the 2 months, I will still pay you and I expect that within that two months, you should be able to get a job. That’s how the employee, employer relationship should be,” he stated.

He added, “But you just be sitting down, and somebody will say ‘I’m sick’. And all of a sudden they are not coming to work and within one week, they tell you stories that don’t add.

I want to appeal to people that we need to build a future. This attitude doesn’t just add up. If you want to leave any job,  leave in a such a manner that you can always walk back to that company. It shouldn’t be like you want to pull that company down whereas you can’t”.

Narrating his ordeal as a business executive, Mr. Anyanah says the key challenge of the modern business in Ghana is the human resource.
