Dulugu erupted in a month-long celebration of football as ten clans – Moshie Zongo, Kumpiibisi, Banebisi, Banembisi, Pogwubisi, Kuka, A-urugubisi, Akiiga, Genebisi, and Balmabisi – battled it out in a fiercely competitive tournament that kicked off on April 21, 2025. The climax arrived with the final showdown between Moshie Zongo and Genebisi, a match filled with passion and skill. Genebisi, ultimately, triumphed, securing a 2-1 victory with goals from Silas and Nyaabila, while Hazard’s lone goal couldn’t salvage Moshie Zongo.

The tournament held significance beyond the pitch. Phillip Azirigu, the Assembly member for Dulugu, graced the occasion, emphasizing the importance of peace and harmony among the participating clans and pledging his continued support for the annual event. Mr. Akolgo-Yine, a respected elder, echoed these sentiments, stressing the need for unity among the youth of Dulugu and reaffirming his commitment to the tournament’s success each year.

The spirit of competition and community was rewarded across the board. Balmabiisi claimed fourth place, receiving Ghc. 300, while Pogwubisi secured third, also earning Ghc 400. Moshie Zongo, despite their valiant effort in the final, took home Ghc. 500 for their second-place finish. Ultimately, Genebisi celebrated their victory with the trophy and Ghc. 600, solidifying their place as the champions of Dulugu’s clan football tournament, an event that strengthened bonds and showcased the region’s sporting talent.
