Awentami Paul Afoko, who is seeking to become the next National Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has made a significant contribution towards the construction of an ultramodern NPP Northern Regional office, donating 400 bags of cement and GH₵30,000 to support the project.
The gesture followed a direct appeal by regional executives during a consultative meeting in Tamale, the regional capital, where they stressed that a well-resourced party office is critical to winning back the Northern Region ahead of the 2028 general elections. The planned multipurpose facility is intended to strengthen party structures and boost operations across the region.
Presenting the donation on behalf of Mr Afoko, Dr. Akisibadek Alekz Afoko called on NPP supporters to rally behind Mr Afoko’s chairmanship bid, describing his leadership as the “surest path to reclaiming power from the NDC in 2028”.
Mr Afoko, who previously served as NPP National Chairman from 2014 to 2015, is running his campaign on a “3R” blueprint, namely; Reunite, Rebuild, and Recapture as he seeks to return to the helm of the party’s national leadership.
Receiving the donation on behalf of Northern Regional Chairman Mohammed Adam Baantima Samba, the Northern Regional Second Vice Chairman Alhaji Abdul Rahman Sualihu Mahama described the contribution as timely, saying “It will give the office construction project the push needed to reach completion”. He also urged Mr Afoko to continue supporting the party’s 2028 comeback mission.
