Job Aboyom, the Bolgatanga Central Constituency Communication Officer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has dismissed claims that the ambulance procured by the Member of Parliament for Bolgatanga Central Constituency, Isaac Adongo is faulty and has been parked at an electricians shop.
He explained that the vehicle is new and has no mechanical or electrical fault requiring the any form of repair works. Rather, it needs some retrofitting for it to serve the intended purpose as an ambulance.
The Member of Parliament for Bolgatanga Central Constituency, Isaac Adongo, has procured an ambulance for the constituency to assist in the evacuation of emergency cases.
It is also expected that the vehicle will make the referral of patients to other facilities for specialist care much easier and more convenient.
Mr. Adongo disclosed almost a month ago that the ambulance is currently in the constituency and is being branded ahead of its official presentation to the Bolgatanga Municipal Health Directorate.
The MP noted that the procurement of the ambulance was informed by observations highlighting difficulties in managing emergency and referral cases to other facilities.
This, he said, influenced his decision to step in and procure the ambulance to specifically serve the constituency. But almost a month after he announced that the ambulance is readily available, it is yet to be handed over. Prompting concerns about possible faults.
Speaking Thursday on the State of Our Nation, Mr. Aboyom explained that the ambulance has no faults since it is new but will jointly be handed over to the health service with two houses secured by the MP to serve as accommodation for doctors in the early days of June 2026.
“I have heard people who do not want good say that the ambulance was parked in an electrical shop but there is the need to install certain things to make an ambulance. So, the MP bought it with his personal funds because he has his people at heart. The MP has secured two new houses for doctors so when he returns from India, he will hand over the ambulance and the houses and launch the agricultural initiative when he returns from India in the early part of June.” He disclosed.
