Dreamz Fm’s News Anchor Teni Sarah Babohima has been crowned an Icon in broadcasting in Northern Ghana.
The award scheme dubbed Women in Broadcasting Award was initiated by AfriTech Hub, a media, marketing and technology organisation based in the Northern Regional Capital, Tamale.
The scheme according to Executive Director of AfriTech Hub Dr Arnold Mashud is essentially to honour women in media and to recognise their contribution to the growth and development of the industry.
At an event held in Tamale to salute selected women in broadcasting from the five regions of the north, honors were bestowed on distinguished female media personalities who were also rewarded with hampers and cash prizes from organisers and sponsors of the award scheme.
Teni bagged the overall award as she was crowned the Icon of women in the media in the northern zone of the country.
Known for her uniqueness in the presentation of Upper East Region’s leading news broadcast – Dreamz Breakfast News, Teni is a graduate of then Ghana Institute of Journalism.
She started presentation of news on Yem Radio in Bolgatanga in 2018 and later in 2020 moved to Dreamz Fm to kick-start the station’s major news bulletin.
She also hosted the Dreamz Breakfast Today show for a while.
