Second wife of slain journalist, Ahmed Hussein-Suale remarried immediately she was sent back to her family in the Northern Region, investigative firm, Tiger Eye P.I. has revealed.

According to the media firm owned by renowned investigative journalist, Anas Aremeyaw Anas, the family of its former employee, who was murdered in cold blood in 2019, sent his two widows back to their families a year after the funeral rites in line with Islamic customs.

But soon after she got to the Northern Region where she hails from, the second wife remarried and has since moved on to live with her new husband at Ashaiman in the Greater Accra Region.

“A year after Ahmed Suale’s assassination on 16 January, 2019, his family sent his wives back to their families in line with Islamic customs. We learnt that the second wife was sent to her family in the Northern Region. We have learnt the second wife remarried shortly after, and relocated to join her new husband at Ashaiman in Accra,” it said.

The investigative media firm made this revelation while debunking claims by the second wife of Ahmed Suale that family of the slain journalist has been neglected by Anas Aremeyaw Anas and his media firm which her husband worked for until his death in 2019.

In a message to a Muslim group on Facebook seeking financial support, the said wife claimed that she has been thrown out of her home and all her late husband’s 4 children dropped out of school as she and her co-wife are unable to foot their school fees.

She claimed Mr.  Anas paid the children’s fees for just one academic year and has since abandoned them leading to the children dropping out of school. She added that a pledge by Mr.  Anas to support the family with a lump sum of money has not been honored, making life difficult for the family.

The slain journalist’s widow said although she had shied away from coming out to seek support because of the possible public backlash and threats she may face, life has become so unbearable for the family hence, her decision to damn the consequences and seek public support so as to get the children back to school and cater for herself and her co-wife whom she claimed she is currently perching with.

But in statement dismissing the claims, Tiger Eye P I stated that, contrary to the claims by the second widow of the slain journalist, the lump sum of money as promised by Anas Aremeyaw Anas was donated in 2019 to the family of the deceased and a business contract secured for the 2 widows to invest their share of the lump sum in order to cater for themselves in the long run.

“Tiger Eye P.I. in 2019 gave a lump sum donation to the family in the presence of Ahmed’s two wives. It is Tiger Eye’s understanding that the family of Ahmed has disbursed the lump sum equitably and that the two wives were settled. Tiger Eye P.I. secured a business contract for the two wives to invest their portion of the lump sum to cater for themselves in the long term,” it said.

It added that the media firm took full responsibility of the children’s education and has been paying their school fees up-to-date and has not abandoned them as claimed by the widow.

“Tiger Eye took responsibility for the education of all the 4 children. To date, Tiger Eye pays for the education of the children”.

It added “Tiger Eye financed the entire funeral expenditure of Ahmed both in Greater Accra and Northern Regions. Tiger Eye has been doing a lot behind the scenes to bring the perpetrators of the gruesome murder of Ahmed to book. To this end, we have been in constant contact with the family”.
