The Municipal Chief Executive for Bolgatanga, Roland Ayoo, has called for increased investment in young people through education, skills training and economic opportunities to promote inclusive development in the municipality.
Speaking at an International Tea Day celebration hosted by A1 Radio in collaboration with Aquabolg Mineral Water at the forecourt of A1 Radio, Ayoo said youth development remained essential to the long-term growth of the Bolgatanga municipality.
According to him, growth should not only be measured economically but also through social development, education and personal fulfillment.
“When we empower youth through education, vocational skills and access to capital, we are not merely fostering individual success, we are building resilient communities capable of sustainable development,” he said.
Ayoo said supporting young entrepreneurs and innovative ideas would contribute to a stronger and more inclusive municipality.
“Every young entrepreneur supported, every initiative idea nurtured, and every opportunity made accessible contributes to a stronger, more inclusive Bolgatanga,” he said.
Using the tea production process as a metaphor for development, the municipal chief executive said growth requires patience, collaboration and sustained support from all stakeholders.
“As we reflect on the journey of tea from farm to cup, let it remind us that growth takes time, care and collaboration,” he said.
Ayoo urged government institutions, the private sector, traditional authorities and community leaders to continue investing in policies and programs that promote inclusion and regional development.
“Let us commit to building bridges that connect opportunities with talent and to fostering a culture where no young person feels left behind,” he said.
He added that empowering young people would ultimately benefit the entire community.
“When the youth of Bolgatanga rise, our entire community rises with them,” Ayoo said.
