The governing New Patriotic Party’s (NPP’s) Constituency Secretary for Bongo Johnson Anaane has jumped to the defence of the District Chief Executive for the area Rita Atanga over assertions that she is not living up to expectations.

Some residents of the district especially members of the NPP have accused her of deepening cracks within the party and failing to bring the needed development to the area.

But speaking in an interview on Breakfast Today on Dreamz FM, Johnson Anaane, while agreeing that some of the decision she took in the early days of her tenure has negatively affected the party’s fortunes in the area, dismissed claims that she’s underperforming.

He stated that the district has witnessed phenomenal development since she took over as head of the district thus, it cannot be the case that she is underperforming.

“She took decisions that were not good for the party and in deed that bruised the party. And I pointed out those things to her and I can tell you she acknowledges those mistakes,” he stated.

“The leadership ensured those issues are resolved. And we are together. And I’m saying that after that, development that came under her, very phenomenal”.

But the Constituency Youth Organizer Abugre Jonathan Contempt, who called into the show, disagreed with the Secretary’s claims.

Abugre Jonathan suggested that the DCE  has side-lined the NPP leadership in the running of the district, adding that her posture has left the party in disarray.

However, Johnson Anaane insisted, “Those issues have been resolved. The party took steps and we’ve been able to resolve those issues”.
