The governing New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) parliamentary candidate for Bongo Constituency Diana Aburiya has a superior record of achievements to her name as compared to that of the opposition National Democratic Congress’ (NDC’s) candidate Charles Bawa Dua.

This is according to the NPP’s Constituency Secretary for Bongo Johnson Anaane, who was assessing the chances of the leading candidates in the upcoming polls in December.

“When we are talking of track record, I think the NPP candidate has a track record. If you were to compare that against the NDC candidate, the NDC candidate virtually has nothing” .

Speaking in an interview on Breakfast Today on Dreamz FM, Johnson said the NPP’s candidate does not only live with the people of the area and appreciates their needs better but has also empowered many economically.

Diana Aburiya, he said, has formed and supported numerous women groups in the constituency to access credit facilities to set up and run small-scale businesses

“The fact that she’s a woman and aware Diana had assisted a lot of women group in terms of helping them to have access to finances when it comes to small businesses.

She has helped. And if not anything at all, the closeness, the bond that she has been able to build with the people of Bongo,” he stated.

The NPP Constituency Secretary believes Madam Aburiya’s philanthropy and her connections with the people of the area as well as the NPP government’s achievements give her an edge over the NDC’s candidate in the polls.
