General Manager of Dreamz FM, Albert Azongo Mbabone has commended staff of the station for their earnest contributions to its growth.
Mr. Azongo said the tremendous success the media outlet has chalked within a short period of time is due to the dedication and commitment of its staff.
“We have done so well. I think that this largely has to do with the hardworking team we have, all of you included. So I want to use this opportunity to salute you guys and to tell you that continue to work hard. We appreciate all that you are doing and how far you have brought Dreamz FM,” he said on Breakfast News.
The General-Manager was speaking on the station’s triumph at the Second Edition of the Upper East Regional Ghana Journalists Association Awards.
The radio station bagged as many as 4 awards at the event held on Friday, October 6 at GNAT Hall in Bolgatanga.
Whiles State of Our Nation, a major flagship program hosted by Albert Azongo was adjudged the Best Radio Programme of the year under review, the station’s Head of News, Nicholas Azebire walked home with 3 awards including Most Promising Journalist of the Year.
The awards, Albert Azongo said, is an indication of the great strides the media outlet has made in its quest to impact lives and contribute to the development of the region and the country as a whole.
He noted that, within the space of 2 years since it commenced operations, the station has blossomed to become one of the most listened to media outlet in Northern Ghana.
This sudden growth, he said, is attributable to the commitment and dedication of the staff.
“We are a team of young people who just believe in what we do and we do it as if we are not working, it is like a hobby. We are passionate about what we do.
We just love the work we do and though it is quite stressful, we do it with some level of ease and so the difference for me is the team that I have and for 3 years, for a station to be what it is as we have it currently largely has to do with the team. It is not an individual’s work, it’s not the equipment, it’s not the transmitter, it’s not the microphone,” he stated.
