The Upper East Regional Chairman of the Ghana Hotels Association (GHA), Louis Bagarinyii Tindan, has declared his intention to contest for the position of National Secretary of the Association.
Mr. Tindan’s current tenure as Regional Chairman is expected to expire in October 2026, and he says he is ready to extend his service to the Association at the national level.
Speaking to Dreamz News on the sidelines of the Association’s dinner held over the weekend, Mr. Tindan highlighted significant growth in the number of registered hotels within the Upper East Region.
He attributed this growth to improved structures within the association and expressed optimism that more hotel operators will come on board in the coming years.
“I must say the association has grown with increased numbers and worked cordially with state institutions to align some of the fees but our numbers were not good but from participation in the activities, we are increasing in numbers so those who are already not members should join us.”
Mr. Tindan noted that his vision is to contribute to the advancement of the association’s agenda on a broader, national scale. He is seeking to replace the current National Secretary, who is the Director of Comer Ci Commer Ca Hotel.
According to him, his experience at the regional level has equipped him with the skills and insight needed to strengthen the association’s administration and advocacy nationwide.
“Our association has a structure with national officers doing four years and the regional officers doing two years per term. So, I will end my second term in October but I have expressed interest to contest at the national level for the position of Secretary. That position is already occupied by a resident of the region, Ellen Gandaa and I hope to replace her,” he said.
