Budding musician Saint Chicago says she no longer get love proposals from men after the release of her single, ‘Banazoe’.
“When I released this song, can you believe niggas don’t approach me again. They don’t approach me again because of this song. They are scared,” she stated in an interview on Work Stretch on Dreamz FM.
Before venturing into music, she said she was inundated with amorous relationship proposals day-in-day-out.
But since coming into limelight in the music scene in the Upper East Region and after the release of her most successful project, the proposals have ceased coming.
She believes the song has portrayed her as materialistic reason men are hesitant to make advances at her.
“They used to propose to me like then times when I wasn’t doing music, then times I didn’t release Banazoe. But now they think ‘oh the girl is on heat. Just look at the song she released. It means you cannot afford her’.”
She, however, clarified that the song is not about her and that she may not care about material things if she is really in love.
Asked whether she is bothered about her relationship drought, Saint Chicago said she is focused on her career now and that she is being careful not to enter into a relationship that could jeopardize it.
“I’m being careful. Being in the industry, there are so many ways to bring you down as a female artist. When your name is flying everywhere and you make a mistake, they’ll bring you down once. They’ll break you down once. They’ll set you up. So I don’t date anyhow.”
She added that she would like to date someone, who understands her career path, preferably a colleague in the industry.
