The campaign team of Kennedy Ohene Agyapong believes that the current state of the governing New Patriotic Party and Ghana requires an individual, who is a disciplinarian, a philanthropist, and a businessman with a good understanding of the country’s challenges.
According to the group, it is poised to engage in a rigorous campaign by engaging delegates in all 15 constituencies in a bid to convince them to settle on the Assin Central lawmaker.
The group has been defending the utterances of Mr. Agyapong adding he is a disciplinarian and a lover of truth and will always speak on what is true.
Mr. Agyapong is one of 10 individuals contesting the presidential primaries of the NPP with the party set to organize a super delegates congress on August 26, 2023.
Speaking to Dreamz News on the sidelines of a regional campaign meeting held Saturday, August 19, 2023, the Regional Campaign Coordinator for Mr. Agyapong, Dennis Amoah Anaba, says the outspoken lawmaker has over the years helped in resourcing the party.
Mr. Anaba, apart from arguing that the party and Ghana need a radical leader like Mr. Agyapong, adds that the Assin Central lawmaker has the grassroots of the party at heart and will work to protect their interest.
“Ken is an astute businessman and politician who has been there for the party. He is a selfless leader, he is a philanthropist and a businessman and we believe that he is the right person because he speaks facts and says things as they are. We need a radical leader and someone who has the interest of the grassroots at heart. Mostly, these are people who are forgotten when the party comes to power.”
On his chances in the weekend exercise, Mr. Anaba, says the chances of Mr. Agyapong are very bright adding no form of intimidation will work.
“His chances are bright and no form of intimidation will work on people because they have made up their minds to vote for Ken. So, we are very confident because our support base is from the grassroots.” He indicated.
According to the various constituency campaign coordinators, they are going to work hard in their respective constituencies to let the message reach all the members of the party especially, delegates.
