The Founder of the Rapid Response Unit for Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, (RRU4DMB), Filson Awankua has stated that the group’s attention is on beating and trashing Former President Mahama in the 2024 election.
The group believes that the November 4 presidential primaries of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), is a done deal for Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.
Formerly launched in August 2023 in the Upper East Region as a voluntary group, the Rapid Response Unit for Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia (RRU4DMB), has hit the ground ground running to ensure the Vice President secures victory in the 2024 election.
According to the group, the November 4 presidential primaries remains but a formality which will see to the endorsement of Dr. Bawumia as the party’s Flagbearer.
The main target however, is securing victory for Dr. Bawumia who they say has shown remarkable competence since assuming the position of Vice President.
This was raised as part of engagements with electoral area coordinators over the weekend in Builsa South, Builsa North, Chaina, Paga Constituency and Navrongo Central Constituency.

After day one of engaging with the Electoral Area Coordinators on Saturday October 13, 2023, the Founder of RRU4DMB, Filson Awankua, explained that the group is more concerned about the 2024 elections and will therefore, intensify the campaign ahead of the major election in December 2024.
He says he is pleased with the commitment shown by the various electoral area coordinators and their burning desire to get the Vice President elected.
“We are all NPP, Kennedy is one of the stalwarts, Akoto, a fellow engineer, one of the stalwarts, Akoto but we are looking at who can whip the NDC and after whipping the NDC, can form a government that will be develop this country. Even our old man was able to whip Mahama now you are talking about the energetic digitized man. At least, he is going to trash Mahama so yes, our focus is beyond November 4. We are going to ensure that we are the gate keepers until DMB is declared winner in 2024.” Mr. Awankua served notice.
Some electoral area coordinators expressed their desire to work for the victory of the Vice President.
