Recent deaths of NPP’s bigwigs a wake up call to seek spiritual protection – Awankua
Member of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP), Filson Awankua is calling on the party in the Upper East Region to seek spiritual protection for its members.
Speaking in an interview on State of Our Nation, Mr. Awankua said the party, within a short period, has lost a number of its bigwigs in the region.
This, he stated, is a cause for concern and a wake up call to the party and its leadership in the region to take steps to safeguard the lives of its members by seeking spiritual protection.
“I will say the party needs to soberly sit down and spiritually seek strength and support and protection from God,” he stated.
“I’m saying this because the last time, we lost two gallant young men of our party; that’s Randy Agana and then followed by Latif, youth organizer. Just after regional elections, you have another, the woman who was at our regional office, she even lost her life during childbirth and now young man, what’s going on?”
He added, “so I will plead that all of us as the NPP family and the leadership especially of the party in the region, we need to sit and then plan something big spiritual, we need spiritual prayers for the party in the region”.
Filson Awankua made this call while expressing shock over the death of the NPP’s regional Research/Electoral Officer, Dr. Edward Naabil.
Dr. Naabil died on March 8, 2023 at the Upper East Regional Hospital where he was receiving treatment following a short illness.
While extending his condolences to the bereaved family, Mr. Awankua asserted that such deaths have become one too many and thus, the party should seek spiritual answers.
