Upper East Regional Youth Organiser of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Abraham Azumah Lambon has asked the people of Bolgatanga East Constituency to reject the New Patriotic Party’s parliamentary candidate for the area, Mathew Silas Amoah in the 2024 Elections.
Abraham Lambon said Mathew Amoah does not have good intentions for the constituency and he will abandon the people if he is elected Member of Parliament.
He argued that Silas Amoah’s philanthropic activities in the area are nothing but a bait to win votes and thus, urged the constituents not to consider voting for him.
Buttressing this claim, Abraham Lambon questioned why he did not show same concern about the developmental issues in the area when he had not intended to run for the position.
“The people of Bolga East need to wise up because he does not have good intentions for them. What he is doing is because of the contest, did you hear of Silas in 2020? Did you hear of Silas in 2016? It’s now that he is coming to contest that we are hearing about him and what he is doing, it is a bait. He is trying to lure the people,” he said on Breakfast Today.
Mathew Silas Amoah took the Bolgatanga East Constituency by storm after he indicated his intention to seek election as Member of Parliament for the area.
He has since embarked on philanthropic activities in furtherance of what he said is his quest to better the lives of the people of the constituency.
His party has high hopes of him winning the seat on its ticket and has confirmed him as its parliamentary candidate.
But those outside the party say that is a mission impossible considering the calibre of the opposition party’s candidate and its current dominance in the area.
