The football landscape of the Upper East Region reached a fever pitch as the maiden edition of the JOVII Invitational U-13 Championship concluded in breath-taking fashion. In a tense and exhilarating grand finale held on January 1, 2026, Soccer Masters Colts secured a historic 2-1 victory over Harvest FC to lift the coveted trophy.

The four-day tournament, which commenced on December 29, 2025, showcased eight elite youth clubs from Bolgatanga Municipal and the Talensi District, including sides like Bolga Real Madrid, Ambitious FC, Young Bolga FC, Yagzore Faith FC, Mboma City, and Bolga All Stars Babies.

The organizer, retired referee Mr. Noah Joshua, was visibly elated by the scintillating displays of skill throughout the competition. Inspired by the profound wisdom of retired FIFA referee Mr. Dawud, who advocates for the essential investment in human capacity, Mr. Noah generously used his own resources to provide this platform for the kids. He promised a grander and more expansive second edition to accommodate even more talented young players.

The event was graced by dignitaries, including Dawood Ouedraogo (retired FIFA referee), National U-15 Head Coach Fatawu Salifu Kiyoyo, Alhaji Ibrahim Dossey of Dreams FC, Peter Asunsua, and B.I.G Family Chairman, Mr. Amos.

Individual brilliance was honoured with prestigious awards: Azoo Christian was named Goal King, Agandaa Harry earned Best Goalkeeper, while Kokre Richmond (Vinicius Junior) was crowned the tournament’s Best Player.

Every participating team received a football, with the runners-up, Harvest FC, taking home bibs and a ball. The triumphant Soccer Masters celebrated their masterful campaign by hoisting a magnificent giant trophy, alongside bibs and footballs, marking a radiant start to the sporting year.
