The District Chief Executive for Talensi has lauded the Member of Parliament for the area Daniel Dung Mahama for what he said is the MP’s dedication to improving the welfare of constituents.
Speaking in an interview on Breakfast Today on Dreamz FM, John Millim Nabwomya said the MP, since assuming office, has been unrelenting in his push for development for the area and the betterment of the lives of residents.
Already, he said the MP has helped, at least, 13 constituents to secure permanent jobs and is working to ensure many more residents secure sustainable livelihoods.
“His concern has been the welfare of Talensi and the development of Talensi. He is actually coming up with so many things. Two days ago he returned to the region, with a number of appointments for some of our youth. Not less than 13, 14 are getting different jobs to move to different parts of the country to work. He came back with appointment letters in his hand. These are permanent jobs into the government sector,” he stated.
Daniel Mahama entered Ghana’s Parliament in January this year, succeeding Benson Tongo Baba as Member of Parliament for the area.
His journey to Parliament began in May 2023 when he secured the NDC’s parliamentary ticket for the area in a keenly contested primary and proceeded to win the 2024 parliamentary election in the constituency.
Eight months into his leadership, John Nabwomya said he is already making significant impacts in the lives of constituents.
Aside from securing them white-collar jobs, the DCE disclosed that the MP is set to procured farm inputs to be distributed to farmers in the area for dry season farming as part of his drive to promote all year round farming and to boost agricultural productivity in the constituency.
“We are just set to secure seeds for farmers to begin their nursing this month and early next month to plant them sometime in November for dry season farming.”
For him, Daniel Mahama is, “the most affable, hardworking, selfless, dedicated member of parliament of our time”.
