The Upper East Regional branch of the Ghana Journalists Association Awards (GJA), ahead of the 2nd edition of the association’s regional awards, has made public, the list of persons, who got nomination after a month of rigorous vetting.
In all, 10 young journalists have been nominated for the awards slated for October 6, 2023.
The 10 nominees include Dreamz FM’s Head of News, Nicholas Nambirigya Azebire, Castro Senyala of Asaase Radio, Moses Apiah, Joshua Asaah and David Azure all of A1 Radio, Anthony Apubeo of the Ghana News Agency, Simon Agana Blessing of Word Fm, Chidozie Stephen of Apex News Gh, Albert Sore of Joy News and Nelson Abagna of GBC Ura Radio.
In a press release signed by the Regional Chairman of the Ghana Journalists Association, William Jalulah, a total of 19 award categories will be won. 17 of those will go to 10 deserving individual journalists while two will go to two radio stations.
There will be five honorary awards to appreciate the contribution of some individuals who have distinguished themselves in their bid to serve humanity.
“I am pleased to announce that all is set for the 2nd Edition of the Upper East Regional Ghana Journalists Association (GJA) Awards slated for October 6, 2023 at GNAT Hall in Bolgatanga. Time: 6:00PM,” the statement said.
“On the night of the ceremony, a total of nineteen (19) award categories will be won. Seventeen (17) of those awards will go to ten (10) deserving individual journalists while two (2) will go to two (2) radio stations. There will also be five honorary awards”.
The 2nd edition of the awards ceremony is under the theme; “Safeguarding the peace and Security of the Upper East Region: The role of the media” with the major sponsor being WaterAid Ghana.
