The Upper East Regional Minister, Donatus Akamugri Atanga, has praised President John Mahama for what he described as his commitment to fulfilling campaign promises, saying the construction of the 24-Hour Market in Bazua in the Binduri District is proof of the President’s vision for the country.

Speaking at the sod-cutting ceremony for the project on Wednesday, the Regional Minister said the market would help translate the government’s 24-Hour Economy policy into reality while also creating opportunities for women through the proposed Women’s Bank initiative.

“We want to translate our campaign message of providing a Women’s Bank through the 24-Hour Market,” he said. “In that market, we will also get the opportunity to fulfil our manifesto promise by ensuring that the Women’s Bank is embedded in the construction of the 24-Hour Market.”

He described President Mahama as a leader who delivers on his promises and remains committed to improving the lives of Ghanaians.

“President John Dramani Mahama is somebody who normally promises and delivers. He is not the person who will say he will do something and later renege after being given the mandate,” the Minister stated.

According to him, the market project is not only aimed at boosting economic activities in the area but also creating a lasting legacy for future generations.

“We are here to establish a legacy for a visionary leader in this country that will transcend this generation. If this 24-Hour Market is constructed, our future generations will come and enjoy it,” he added.

The Minister further praised President Mahama for what he called his innovative leadership style, saying the President is known for introducing original ideas that promote national development.
