The Member of Parliament for the Bolgatanga East Constituency of the Upper East Region, Dr. Dominic Akuritinga Ayine has made it clear to the Parliamentary Candidate the New Patriotic Party, NPP Mathew Silas Amoah that when the proper campaign starts, he (Silas Amoah) will run out of the constituency.
According to the MP, he is not moved by the things Silas Amoah does in the constituency as he drags him and his party which is in government for not living up to expectations.
“What matters is that his party is not preforming and if he steps in to use his own money to do something, repair an ambulance and so on and then he wants to climb the rooftop for everybody to see that he is the reason why Bolga East is what it is? At the appropriate time, when we start, I have told him, he will run out of this place,” Dr. Ayine states.
He says the Bolgatanga East Constituency under the NPP has not seen significant development adding the government has failed to complete some boreholes in the area.
“As far as I am concerned in this constituency, the New Patriotic Party government has done very little. Apart from the agenda 111, I don’t even know what stage it is, We have had very little development”.
He adds, “Your government is in power, they have done boreholes that they cannot even complete, the NPP government dug boreholes around this constituency they have not fixed pumps, and the communities are not even accessing water”.
During his confirmation, Mr. Amoah took on the MP, stating the lawmaker since 2012 has not properly represented the people of Bolga East.
Mr. Amoah therefore served notice that he was taking constituency by storm adding his presence and work as a parliamentary candidate was pushing the MP to make donations and carry out certain activities in the area.
But speaking to Journalists after presenting 200,000 cedis cheque to the Bolga East Health Directorate for work on the Katanga Maternity block to continue, Dr. Akuritinga Ayine, says Silas Amoah needs to know that his party has failed.
Dr. Ayine explained that it is wrong for anyone to think that it is the sole responsibility of the MP to solve all developmental challenges.
“The media should let him know that he is not independent candidate. He is the NPP parliamentary candidate; the government that is not preforming, the government that has sent Ghana backward 20 years”.
On the library complex he initiated, Dr. Ayine said the government has refused to release funds for the completion of the project. He, however, indicated he is seeking private funding for the project and will see to its completion.
