Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia says he has a compelling vision to transform Ghana into developed country if he becomes president.

Addressing his loyalists after filing his nomination at the New Patriotic Party’s Headquarters in furtherance of his bid to contest the party’s presidential primary, Dr. Bawumia said he will leverage on technology, data and the existing digital systems to transform the various sectors of the economy and better the living conditions of Ghanaians should he be given the nod.

“I have a compelling vision for Ghana’s future. It is possible for Ghana to be like the advanced nations if we put our minds and energies to it. With the technologies available, the new ones that are emerging, and a renewed mindset, we can leapfrog impossibilities and make the unimaginable possible,” he told the crowd of supporters.

He added, “It is  possible to break the eight, in order to continue with the transformational policies we have started. It is possible!”

He is, therefore, appealing to members of his party and the entire Ghanaian populace to support his bid, adding that his vision to make the country a modern state can be achieved if Ghanaians rally behind it.

“Together with you, I want to see a Ghana where we leverage technology, data and systems for inclusive economic growth. I want to make Ghana the digital hub of Africa.

I want us to bridge the digital divide and apply digital technology and artificial intelligence for the transformation of healthcare, education, and public service delivery amongst others,” he stated.

He also touted his contributions to the NPP and the development of Ghana over the years.

According to him, he has made immense sacrifices for the party and showed it and its government unflinching loyalty.

Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia is among a host of others seeking to succeed President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo as NPP flagbearer.

He has had quite a number of the party’s big guns declaring support for him and this, some say puts him ahead of his contenders.
