Disrespect and abuse remain among the most serious red flags in relationships, panelists said during a candid discussion on Dreamz FM’s “Breakfast Today” show.
Gifty Asore described public humiliation as a major concern, noting that some partners insult or belittle their significant others in front of others.
“You don’t correct me by insulting me and making me look like I don’t know anything,” she said.
Eunice Aboyei added that disrespect is often a silent deal breaker, with some choosing to withdraw from relationships without confrontation.
“If you disrespect me, I might not even tell you. I will just withdraw quietly,” she said.
The panel also condemned physical abuse, warning that some individuals remain in harmful relationships due to low self-worth.
“If you are in a relationship and there is abuse, leave,” one panelist said, recounting cases where victims stayed despite repeated harm.
The discussion underscored the need for awareness and self-respect in identifying unhealthy relationship patterns, especially among young people.
