The New Patriotic Party’s Upper East regional communications director, Peter Ayinbisa, says any interested communicator, including Peter Atohoba can join the party’s communications team if they follow established procedures.
Mr Ayinbisa made the remarks during a radio discussion on Dreamz FM, responding to claims that Atohoba had been sidelined from official party communications activities.
“There is no barrier,” Ayinbisa said. “If you want to join the team, you express interest, and we bring you on board.”
He explained that the communications team operates as a structured group whose members are identified, trained and scheduled for media engagements.
According to him, the process is voluntary but requires individuals to formally indicate their interest and align with the party’s communication strategy.
“You must be part of the system so that you understand the party’s position on issues before you go on air,” he said.
Mr Ayinbisa added that the team has grown significantly under his leadership, expanding from about 30 members to more than 70 across the region.
He said he had personally engaged Atohoba and outlined the steps required to become part of the official team, describing the matter as “straightforward.”
“I have no problem with him,” Mr Ayinbisa said. “He is my younger brother, and anyone who can contribute to the party is welcome.”
The comments come as broader discussions within the party about inclusivity and coordination in its communications strategy ahead of future political activities.
