15 women who delivered at the maternity ward of the Upper East Regional Hospital, on Saturday, April 22, 2023, which fell on a day Muslims across the globe marked Eid ul-fitr, received hampers and cash gifts from Aqua Bolg Foundation, producers of Aqua Bolg Mineral water which is based in the regional capital, Bolgatanga.
After 9 months of endurance and hours of labor pain, the 15 mothers who were full of joy for a successful journey had their joy heightened after they received an unexpected surprise from the Aqua Bolg Foundation.
Aqua Bolg, a sachet and bottled water operating company operating in Bolgatanga has seen its managers set up the foundation to give back to society.
The salah day donation saw the 15 women receive diapers, two bags of soap, detergent, a pack of toilet rolls, and an undisclosed cash amount meant to help them transport themselves home after being discharged.
According to the management of Aqua Bolg Natural Mineral Water, Eid ul-Fitr is a holiday that ends a month-long dawn fasting of Ramadan and presents an opportunity to extend a hand to other persons or groups hence the donation.
Apart from the women, the maternity ward of the Upper East Regional Hospital received 60 bags of Aqua Bolg sachet water.
The Chief Executive Officer of Aqua Bolg Foundation, Humul Krusum Tahiru, said Aqua Bolg has existed for some time and owes its progress to the people of the region and therefore finds it necessary to support women who have been through pain to give life.
She added that the future for Aqua Bolg Mineral Water and the Foundation remains bright as they place the people at the center of their operations and activities.
“The 9 months journey is not easy and so if a woman delivers successfully, you need to congratulate them and let them know that we care for them.”
She continued, saying “The future of Aqua Bolg and the foundation is bright because we are going to try as much as possible to get close to the people. So, the future is bright but for us to stay in business, we need people to patronize us to help us do many of the social issues that we know that government alone cannot tackle all.” She stated.
The mothers expressed gratitude for the gesture and prayed for the growth of Aqua Bolg Mineral Water.
