President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has appointed Minister of State at the Presidency and Member of Parliament for Tano North, Freda Prempeh as Minister for Sanitation and Water Resources, a statement from the seat of government has said.
Madam Prempeh takes over from Cecilia Abena Dapaah, who resigned from the post following public outrage over revelation that she stashed millions of cash in her home.
“The President of the Republic, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, has appointed the Minister of State at the Presidency and Member of Parliament for Tano North, Hon. Freda Prempeh as the Minister for Sanitation and Water Resources.
She takes over from Hon. Cecilia Abena Dapaah, whose letter of resignation, dated Saturday, 22nd July, 2023, was accepted by the President on Saturday, 22nd July 2023,” the statement announced.
The president has also moved the Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration and MP for Tatale/Sangulu, Thomas Mbomba to the Roads and Highways Ministry as Deputy Minister while the Deputy Minister of Roads and Highways and MP for Afigya Sekyere East, Mavis Nkansah Boadu has been reshuffled to the Foreign and Regional Integration Ministry as Deputy.
The appointments, the statement indicated, take effect immediately.
