I am raged, disgusted and scandalised by the unguarded pronouncements of Mr. Hopeson Adorye  about the political decendents of   Simon Diedong Dombo as only fit for running mates. It is evident that his ilk are estranged with the truth that lives in history,  facts and common sense.

The tripod leadership that represents the soul and spirit  of our party teaches us the core values of respect, unity, coexistence,  ‘the common good’ and patriotism.

It is trite that the likes of Hopeson  would wish for a resurrection of the outlawed ‘Avoidance of discrimination Act’. Comments  of these nature makes one feel, we may have lost, failed or blatantly  refused to know the history of both our country and party.

The acceptance of  Simon Diedong Dombo to unite his Northern Peoples Party with the National Liberation Movement which was an amalgamation  Ghana Congress Party and UGCC led by Busia and Danquah  and other smaller parties formed in religious lines birthed the United Party which in turned begat us (NPP).

This was not only remarkable but injected some sense of inclusivity which is the factor propelling the NPP’s staggering growth in the country and the soaring performance in the upper regions.

Dombo thus was a primus inter pares (first among equals) to the likes of Nkrumah, Busia, Dankwa among others.

His intellectual, political and traditional prowess and grasp of issues landed him the opportunity to serve in various ministerial slots at the time.

I find it sickening for any right thinking Ghanaian to think  that others must play second feedle  to them regarding political contest,  really? Hopeson you are mad!

If the Alan campaign  feel they can break the rules of our party with such impunity and also plant seeds of discord among what I see as a united party  ready to get Ghana out of the woods and break the 8, we shall meet them in equal  measure.

We refused to allow hopeless people to want to tell us where we belong.  We shall  fight it, we shall  showcase what we are made of ( Ghanaians already know the impact of Dr Bawumia in changing this country  with such brilliance).

The Alan campaign must punish Hopeson by pulling him down and off the team and allow  for a more decent,  competence based and character dictate  the selection process of our flag bearer.

Mr Hopeson,  you goofed, you have disappointed Ghanaians, and you have weaponised the NDC with needless draconian propaganda.

Let’s eschew these divisive politics and build a united party.
