As part of its vision to reach the target, the Foundation has started providing training to some youths in footwear making in Bolgatanga Municipal of the Upper East Region.

The purpose of the 5-days training which started on Wednesday July 26, 2023 for the first cohort was to provide essential and employable skills to a good number of youths across the region.

Aside from the free skill training, the Foundation in its maiden project provided free mentorship, free basic tools and startup while awarding certificates to about 40 participating youths for the cohort.

Speaking to Dreamz News, the project Manager for the Foundation, Seidu Abdul Kansus noted that, the initiative will have a positive impact on the youths, the region and the nation as a whole, as it will create jobs for themselves and others.

He said, “We are looking at how we can train these people and provide them with tools that will enable them to practise after the the training. We will do an evaluation checks, we will go to each and everyone’s house if not all, but at least majority of them to see their progress and how far they have gone even after the training program”.

“Unemployment is actually one of the biggest threats to our national security, so we as a foundation saw it that it’s good we start charity from our backyard before we reach anywhere else, that’s why we are much concerned about the youth of Upper East Region and see how we can equip them”. – He added.

Beneficiaries of the training, stated that, they were ever ready to learn the skills, and train others in their communities who unfortunately couldn’t take part in the training sessions.
