Member of Parliament for Bolgatanga East Constituency Dr Dominic Akuritinga Ayine has rubbished threats of defeat by the New Patriotic Party in the constituency.
According to him, the New Patriotic Party is the least of his worries because they have not gained popularity in the constituency as they claim.
The former Deputy Attorney General told journalists that he has never and would never have any sleepless night over the NPP in his constituency.
Dr Ayine on Monday March 20, 2023 successfully filed his parliamentary nomination forms to contest the upcoming parliamentary primaries for fourth term.
“I may have sleepless nights about a lot of issues, I don’t lose sleep over the NPP. Not at all and not in this constituency. All the things they [NPP] are doing, have you heard me respond to them? It is not because I don’t see what they are doing,” he said.
Dr Ayine stated that a recent health and unity walk organised by the governing party in the constituency was largely swelled by people who have no vote in the constituency.
While stressing that majority of the participants who thronged the constituency to participate in the event were shuttled from other constituencies, he said “You can’t go to Bolgatanga Technical University, non-voters in thus constituency and come and parade them around and say you are gaining grounds”.
