The Customs Exercise and Preventive Service (CEPS) has intercepted a vehicle loaded with bags of rice and soups products entering the Bolgatanga Market in the Upper East Region.

The incident occurred on a busy market day, with officials catching the driver attempting to bring in the goods without proper documentation.

CEPS officials stopped the vehicle and offloaded the goods into their official car after discovering that the items lacked the necessary paperwork.

The driver claimed that the owner of the goods had instructed him to load the items from a border community in the Bongo District.

The seized goods have been transported to the Zuarungu office for further investigation and action.
