Dr. Moses K. Atinga has formally declared his intention to contest for the position of Upper East Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the upcoming regional elections, presenting himself as a candidate of experience, unity, and strategic leadership.
In a statement posted on his Facebook wall, Dr. Atinga said his decision follows careful reflection, wide consultation, and a deep sense of responsibility to the party he has served at various levels over the years.
Dr. Atinga brings to the contest a long track record of party service spanning several decades. He served as an Elected Assemblyman for eight years, which he described as formative years that grounded his understanding of grassroots leadership. He subsequently served as Constituency Treasurer for eight years, contributing to financial discipline and accountability within the party, and as Constituency Secretary for four years, where he gained experience in party administration, coordination, and mobilisation.
Most recently, he served as Regional First Vice Chairman for four years, a role that deepened his understanding of regional dynamics, conflict resolution, and election preparedness.
“My political journey has never been about titles, it has always been about service, commitment, and building lasting structures for victory,” he said.
Dr. Atinga outlined a vision centred on uniting the party, strengthening grassroots structures, empowering executives, and positioning the NPP in the Upper East Region for decisive electoral victory.
“This is not just about winning an internal contest, it is about preparing the Upper East NPP for the bigger task ahead. Together, we can rebuild confidence, energize our base, and inspire a new generation of party faithful,” he said.
He called on delegates to consider character, strategy, experience, and competence in making their choice, asking them to look beyond the contest and focus on the broader goal of returning the NPP to power.
