Presidential aspirant of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Dr. Kwabena Duffuor has withdrawn his lawsuit seeking to stop the party from holding its presidential and parliamentary primaries tomorrow, May 13.

Dr. Duffuor had filed an application for interlocutory injunction against the NDC from going ahead with the electoral processes after the party rubbished concerns he raised over what he said are discrepancies with the voters register to be used for the conduct of the primaries.

In a writ filed at an Accra High Court, Dr. Duffuor accused the leadership of the party of failing to make available the photo album register for the election on time for his inspection as stipulated by the party’s rules.

He also alleged that he and his Campaign Team have identified irregularities with the register which make it inaccurate and unreliable for a free, fair and credible elections.

He had, therefore, prayed the court to restrain the party and the EC from going ahead with the processes until the anomalies were rectified.

But at a hearing this morning, Dr. Duffuor asked the court to discontinue the case.

The court has since struck it out, paving way for the primaries to take place as scheduled.
