Sherigu is poised to enter a new chapter in educational progress as Hon. Isaac Adongo officially commenced the construction of the Sherigu Senior High School (SHS). The project was marked by a ceremonial sod-cutting event led by Hon. Donatus Atanga Akamugre, Upper East Regional Minister, underscoring the government’s commitment to advancing learning opportunities in Bolgatanga Central.
This landmark initiative is designed to modernize educational infrastructure and respond to the growing demand for secondary education in the area.

The Sherigu Senior High School will feature the following state-of-the-art facilities:
3-Storey, 18-Unit Classroom Block: Expanding academic space to accommodate more students in a supportive learning environment.
2-Storey Boys’ Dormitory Block: Equipped to provide comfortable and secure residential accommodation, including a spacious courtyard.
2-Storey Girls’ Dormitory Block:A parallel facility with an equally equipped courtyard to ensure safe, dignified housing for female students.
2-Storey Administration/Library Block:Serving as the nerve center for administrative activities and access to learning resources.
12-Seater Toilet Facilities:Separate sanitation facilities for boys and girls to promote hygiene, privacy, and wellbeing.
Four (4) Two-Bedroom Semi-Detached Bungalows:Providing staff accommodation to enhance teacher retention and improve welfare.
3-Bedroom Headmaster’s Bungalow:Ensuring effective on-site leadership, coordination, and administrative oversight.
