Presidential aspirant of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Dramani Mahama has eulogized the Member of Parliament for Bolgatanga Central, Isaac Adongo.
Speaking at GNAT Hall during his recent tour of the Upper East Region, Mr. Mahama described the Ranking Member of Parliament’s Finance Committee as an economist par excellence and terror to the Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia and his Economic Management Team.
“Bolga Central (MP), he is known as the economist par excellence and he is the terror of both the Vice President and their whole economic management team,” he stated.
The former president heaped these praises on the MP after he welcomed him to the rally venue and urged party’s delegates to give him a 100 percent endorsement on May 13, 2023.
Mr. Mahama, speaking shortly after Mr. Adongo’s welcome address, recalled that the MP was one of the key persons who had consistently criticised the government and warned against its incessant borrowings.
But the government and the Finance Minister, Ken Ofori-Atta, he remembers, ignored his warnings and continued to borrow, running the country into crisis.
Isaac Adongo is currently in his second term as legislator for Bolgatanga Central and is likely to secure a third term mandate after he is left unchallenged in the upcoming primaries of the party.
He is one of the persons tipped to be made ministers should the NDC return to power.
