Member of Parliament for Garu Constituency in the Upper East Region, Albert Alazuga Akuka has lost in his bid to seek re-election.
Mr. Akuka, who has been challenged by two other persons in the National Democratic Congress’ (NDC) parliamentary primaries in the constituency, only managed to obtain 160 votes, trailing behind his two contenders.
The ticket has been won by Dr. Winsum Anaba, who polled 250 votes as against 246 votes obtained by his closer contender, George Mbawin.
This means Mr. Akuka will not be returning to Parliament after the 2024 Elections.
