ROCKSON AYINE BUKARI, UPPER EAST REGIONAL MINISTER

Former Upper East Regional Minister, Rockson Ayine Bukari is urging residents of the region to vote massively for Vice-President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia in the upcoming presidential primary of the NPP.

Speaking at the party’s Extraordinary Delegates Conference to confirm its  parliamentary candidate for Bolgatanga East Constituency, Mr. Bukari said the people of the region and the Vice-President are of the same identity hence, it is only proper that they support his ambition to become president of the country.

While recounting the close ties between the Bawumias and some prominent residents of the region, the former minister urged delegates to give him a 100 percent endorsement in the primary.

“Dr. Bawumia is our own person. Will you reject your relative and support an outsider? So I’m urging you to give Dr. Bawumia 100 percent in Bolga East Constituency. Here is his hometown. His father used to visit here regularly. He was good friend of Azeko(a prominent resident),” he stated.

“So if his son is running for the office of president and wants our support, will we reject him? So give him a 100 percent endorsement and pray that he becomes president of Ghana”.

He also appealed them to support Mathew Silas Amoah to become Member of Parliament for the Constituency so that he will facilitate speedy development in the area.

It is his case that the current Member of Parliament for the Constituency, Dominic Ayine and his party, the National Democratic Congress have failed the people of the area and Ghana as a whole and should be rejected at the polls.

He said unlike the governing party, which has initiated and implemented numerous life-changing  policies, the NDC is also good at rumourmongering and peddling falsehoods.

Mr. Bukari decried the increasing politics of insults, which he said has become the order of the opposition party’s politicking and entreated his party members particularly the youth to continue to engage in decent politics and not copy their opponent’s style of campaigning.

“If you look at the state of Ghana today, the development NPP has brought is unprecedented. The NDC has done absolutely nothing. They’re only good at telling lies and rumor mongering. In their party, young people disrespect and insult the elderly. Is that how politics is done?”

“I will advise you the young ones to not engage in politics of insult. Even if they’re insulting you, just tell them the truth. What have we done? We implemented NHIS, making healthcare accessible by all and we have again implemented another transformational policy, the Free SHS”.
