DR. MAHAMUDU BAWUMIA-VICE PRESIDENT OF GHANA

Vice-President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has led at the National Headquarters of the governing New Patriotic Party in the ongoing Special Delegates Conference of the party.

Dr. Bawumia secured 107 out of the 176 total valid votes cast at the party’s headquarters. Member of Parliament for  Assin Central Constituency, Kennedy Ohene Agyapong came second with 32 votes while former Trades Minister, Alan Kwadwo Kyerematen emerged third with 25 votes.

Addai Nimo polled 6 votes to place at fourth position with former General Secretary, Kwabena Agyei Agyepong and former Agric Minister, Afriyie Akoto  following with 3 and 1 votes respectively.

Former Railways Minister, Joe Ghartey also managed to secure a vote. The rest of the 3 aspirants, however, had no vote.

The party’s National Headquarters has the highest number of delegates expected to partake in the Special Delegates Conference, which is aimed at whittling down the number of aspirants.

So far, the Vice-President has taken a commanding lead, scoring about 66.29 percent of votes cast in 16 out of 17 centres.
