The Electoral Commission has nullified the vote of the Ashanti Regional Youth Organiser of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Raphael Sarfo Patrick in the ongoing Special Delegates Conference of the party.
Raphael Sarfo, who is a known supporter of Vice-President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, is said to have shown his ballot paper to the public after casting his vote at the regional voting centre.
This, the EC explained, is in contravention of the rules governing the election thus, the decision to nullify his vote.
The decision of the EC sparked heated exchanges between supporters of the Vice-President and those of the other contenders.
But the police quickly intervened and calmed the situation.
