The Public Utilities Regulatory Commission (PURC) has held its maiden consumer clinic in the Upper East Region. This forms part of PURC’s mandate to receive, investigate and settle complaints relating to utility services.
The clinic has therefore been instituted to create a platform for consumers to present their complaints to PURC and the utilities.

And therefore, encouraged consumers to report concerns about his outfit.
“The best way to get somebody to understand whatever you are doing is to educate the person and you have to do that by engaging the people. Now the people know that there are laws governing the process so if you go and you don’t get the appropriate service, you can report to us PURC and action will be taken,” he said.
He continued stating “If you have power fluctuations regularly and you lose your gadget, you can report to the utility service provider and if you go and they tell you that they can’t do it, you still have the opportunity to come to PURC and on yearly basis, we pay compensation to people and if you quantify it, we talking about over 12 million cedis paid as compensation,” he added.
